Dear Friends of Hamilton-Madison House,
We hope you are safe and well and we extend our wishes for health and safety amidst this most challenging time.
Sadly, as many of you know, due to the pandemic we were compelled to cancel our 41st June Lee Chinatown Banquet that had been scheduled for this past April. We regret having missed this joyful gathering and, as you might imagine, the loss in income resulting from the event’s cancellation has placed financial pressure on our organization.
Even so, Hamilton-Madison House has been highly active in the response to COVID-19. Daily, we're striving to assure the well-being of thousands of children, families, seniors and immigrants residing in Chinatown, the Lower East Side and beyond. We’re also in the midst of seeking funds for initiatives designed to extend further relief to our neighbors in need.
The attached video (courtesy of Jan Lee, HMH Board of Director) illustrates these efforts. We ask that you please set aside ONE MINUTE to view it and, if you are able, to please make a financial contribution to help equip Hamilton-Madison House to continue to serve as a source of profound support to those in our midst as we navigate the pandemic over the weeks and months ahead.
Hamilton-Madison House’s motto Never Turn Away has never been more pertinent. Indeed, we are committed to making our ourselves available in whatever ways feasible to help sustain our neighbors and our shared community amidst the current situation. Together, we are confident, we will emerge with renewed rigor.
In times like this, we’re reminded of how interconnected we all are. Thank you for your continued support and being part of our community. Thank you so much for whatever assistance you can offer. Without you, none of it is possible.
Stay safe and well,
Isabel Ching, LMSW
