Meal Distribution to Seniors during COVID-19 Pandemic

As the COVID-19 crisis continues, Hamilton-Madison House continue its efforts to deliver meals and groceries to seniors in our communities.

(July 31, 2019)  Ambassador Yamanouchi from the Consulate General of Japan in New York visited Hamilton-Madison House and its Japanese Mental Health Clinic and had discussions on the importance of mental health care. Ambassador Yamanouchi mentioned that the contributions of Hamilton-Madison House to the mental health and well-being of everyone in the community are truly valuable.

Thank you to Council Member Margaret Chin and Earth Matter for the opportunity to make our Garden Heritage Beds. The seniors led by Linda Leung of Smith NORC worked very hard all summer planting eggplants, bitter melon, and gourds.  Each guests received a basil bouquet to take home.  

HMH Executive Director, Isabel Ching, was honored during the Two Bridges Neighborhood Council “Over the Rainbow” Spring Benefit event and awarded the “Lower East Side/Chinatown Community Leader”.

Hamilton-Madison House's Director of Smith Senior Services NORC testifies at a NYCHA hearing on the need for NYCHA to improve response to facility issues and allocate more resources to capital improvements.


Caregiver Program at Hamilton-Madison House

After suffering a prolonged illness from pneumonia, Yuet Ching Quan, an 81-year-old New York City resident, found support in the Caregiver Services Program at Hamilton-Madison House, supported by the New York City Department for the Aging.
