Youth Development

Hamilton-Madison House offers Youth Development programs for children and teens that provide students with life-enhancing activities that develop life skills to handle everyday stresses effectively and to prepare them for future responsibilities at school, work, and home. Math and literacy clubs as well as brush painting take place on Saturdays.

LIFT Program
In 2021, after the numerous challenges facing youth during 2020, a pilot initiative was formed where a diverse collection of youth would come together to develop leadership skills, pursue common passions and partake in service projects. This group of youth are known as LIFT, or Local Initiative Fostering Togetherness. Since 2021, LIFT has participated in the following initiatives: community service, composting, fundraising, intergenerational walking clubs, martial arts, podcasting, S.A.T. prep, birthday celebrations for seniors, team building, videography and more.

Two Bridges Youth Farmers Market

The participants of LIFT established a weekly Farmers Market during 2022 for local residents. The Farmers Market will reopen on May 21st 2023 and will run outside of 50 Madison on Sundays from 10am to 3pm until December, where it will close for the season with plans to reopen next year. The Market accepts cash, credit/debit, EBT, NYC Health Bucks, WIC and Senior FMNP, and coupons/checks. You can also receive $2 in NYC Health Bucks for every $2 spent in EBT, up to $10 per day. Instead of hate, spread a healthy plate!
