A caregiver is defined as a family member or loved one (such as a partner, relative, or adult child), community member, friend, or a paid professional (such as a nurse or home health aide) who regularly takes care of a child, an elderly person, or person with disability in need.

Being a caregiver looking after a family member, community member, friend, partner, or loved one can be overwhelming. You are strong and capable, but you don’t have to do it alone.

If you care for a loved one in need — whether you assist to prepare food, pay bills, schedule doctor appointments, arrange transportation, do household chores, or daily life — you are a caregiver and we are here to help.

We can connect you and your loved ones with free caregiver services and resources that can make life easier to manage. We support families all across New York City.

If you take better care of yourself, you can take better care of your family. Fill out your email below and a Geriatric Specialist from Hamilton-Madison House’s Caregiver Services programs will get in touch. Or, feel free to contact our respective programs that are listed on the right.

This service is funded by the City of New York’s Department for the Aging.
